    GP  Negligence

When we notice certain changes in our body or immune system, we tend to make contact with our GP to diagnose the problem. We trust their decision to diagnose the medical issue for us, take any medication they recommend, or if needed we heed their advice to see an alternative doctor who specialises in the necessary field.

We have faith in our GP to always make the best decision possible for us, to carefully listen to us when we discuss our medical issue with them. If they fail to do so, the consequences can be extremely harmful for us, or in extreme case they can even be fatal.

By them neglecting their duty of care towards you, medical problems such as infections, illnesses, or even cancers can go undetected, and the delay in the diagnosis can cause significant damage. To avoid putting you at risk or in danger, it is vital that there is no error in their judgement.

    How we can help?

A mistake made by a GP can have serious life changing, or even life threatening, consequences. Failing to give you their full undivided attention and listening to all that you have to say can result in errors on their behalf. The care that GPs provide can sometimes fall below expectations, where they will fail to pick up on a major issue or disregard your symptoms as not important. This can cause significant delays and further health problems, and not all of them can be reversed or cured.

Our medical negligence solicitors will work tirelessly to ensure that you are brough to justice for any pain or health issue you have had to endure due to negligence. As well as being compensated for your health, they will also take into consideration any costs or losses you have had to endure, such as having to take time off work, or having to travel to and from appointments.

When you call us, you will be connected to one of our specially trained advisors who will go through all the details of the issue with you and advise you if you have ground for a claim. If you do, they will connect you with one of the specialist medical negligence solicitors on our panel, who will begin the process of your claim.

What are some common claims I might make against my GP?

Any area where your GP has been negligent could be a potential claim. This can include:-

    1. Giving you a wrong prescription.
    2. Not diagnosing a health issue or illness.
    3. Not referring you to a specialist where its needed.
    4. Not conducting the correct examination on you
    5. Incorrectly inputting the information you have provided them.

Am I eligible to make a claim?

Your GP should ensure you are provided with the right care, and they must ensure this is done at all times. If you have suffered due to their neglect, then you may be entitled to compensation.

The claims are dealt with on a no win no fee basis. This means there are no upfront costs, and in the event that your case was to fail, providing that you have been honest and co-operative, you will not have to pay anything. If your case is successful, any costs not covered by the other side’s insurance will be paid from your compensation. This will be a maximum of 25%. It can be less, but it will never be more.
